Get Ready for the First Day! Join DPSCD's Back-to-School Expos Beginning August 7
The first day of school is almost here! As we count down to Monday, August 24, 2026, Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD) is inviting families to kick off the new school year by attending one of our Back-to-School Expos, beginning Friday, August 7.
Whether you're a returning family or enrolling your student for the first time, our Back-to-School Expos are designed to help every student start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
Families will have the opportunity to:
- Enroll new students or complete enrollment requirements.
- Meet school staff and administrators.
- Tour the school building and classrooms.
- Learn about academic programs, student services, athletics, and extracurricular activities.
- Receive important back-to-school information and resources.
- Connect with district departments and community partners.
- Enjoy family-friendly activities and giveaways at select locations.
Attending a Back-to-School Expo is one of the best ways to ensure your family has everything needed for a successful start to the 2026-2027 school year. Our school teams are excited to welcome students, answer questions, and help families prepare for an outstanding year of learning.
